KCR afraid of debacle: Ponnala

Telangana Congress Committee Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah today said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao is afraid of debacle in the elections.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan along with Chief Spokesman D Sravan, Lakshmaiah alleged that KCR was addressing a number of public meetings only to target and scold him. Suggesting to KCR to maintain decency and decorum while talking about others, Ponnala flayed KCR for his abusive language. How could a leader like KCR who is eying CM post in Telangana, use a word like “Sannasi”, he lamented.

He found fault with the TRS Chief for frequently talking about Congress senior leader KVP Ramachandra Rao. He refuted the contention that he has got the Congress chief post in Telangana at the behest of KVP. KCR who failed to talk about irrigation projects is now raising the issue just for votes and seats, he alleged. On his negligence to complete irrigation projects in the region, he sought to know whether KCR is not aware of Sriram Sagar Project getting delayed. Ponnala expressed surprise as to why KCR failed to raise the issue of irrigation projects when in power during his tenure as union minister or at state level.

He said that KCR is resorting to personal attacks against him with a fear of defeat. The TRS Chief is holding a number of public meetings and targeting him for political gains, he alleged. Actually the TRS leadership has no cadre in 10 districts of Telangana and there is no chance for him to win majority of seats, Lakshmaiah said. The T Cong chief also stated that since the TRS party is not a full-fledged one it cannot gain power despite tall promises being made through public meetings. He also ridiculed the TRS Manifesto for luring the people with false promises. The assurances mentioned in the TRS manifesto cannot be implemented, he said. On KCR comments that he failed to complete a single irrigation project in Telangana, Lakshmaiah said that the works are going on and there is no negligence at all.
T Congress chief spokesman D Sravan alleged TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao sold 60 per cent of the 17 MP seats to rowdies, brokers, real estate businessmen. He ridiculed KCR for stating that he will root out political corruption which is the joke of the decade. People are watching the TRS statements and misgivings, he said adding that KCR will not gain majority in the elections.(NSS)
