Kazakhstan, ISRO in JWG pact for space cooperation

New Delhi: A delegation of the Aerospace Committee (Kazkosmos) of the Ministry of Aerospace and Defense Industry of Kazakhstan recently paid a visit to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Bangalore, where prospects for cooperation in the field of space between Kazakhstan and India were discussed.

The Kazakh delegation was led by Kazkosmos Acting Chairman Malik Olzhabekov.

Both parties presented their respective space programs and discussed proposals for cooperation in the development of the aerospace industry, such as satellite communication; launch vehicle development and launch sites; remote sensing; small satellites development; development of components.

The Kazakh delegation also visited technical facilities and got acquainted with the activities of the Satellite Integration and Testing Establishment (ISITE) and the Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangalore.

As the result of the working visit, an agreement was reached for the establishment of a joint working group for conducting a detailed study of projects where cooperation could take place, especially in the above mentioned areas.

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India Bulat Sarsenbayev also called on Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, during which both discussed prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Karnataka. (ANI)
