A globe trotting 70-year-old entrepreneur from Kazakhstan, Sapar Iskakov, reached Mumbai bearing the flag of Expo 2017 in a bid to promote the international event on future energy being hosted in Astana.
The Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan has arranged meetings for Iskakov in various countries to speak about Kazakhstan, the hosting venue, Astana and the event EXPO 2017. He is travelling at his own expense and has chosen not to disclose the cost of the journey.
Sharing snippets from his journey so far,on Sunday, Iskakov spoke about the countries he has visited.
“We held the same meeting in New York, in Australia, in New Zealand, Malaysia, China, Singapore and this time we are holding it in Mumbai,” he said.
Iskakov said that the event would be themed exclusively on future energy which seeks to concentrate on the future of energy through innovative but practical energy solutions as well as their global impact.
“The idea is to create a platform where we can discuss and exchange views on the future energy and also the idea of the infrastructure that would be created for 2017 which can be used as a new form of energy,” he said.
Kazakhstan reportedly considers EXPO 2017 as its most prestigious event, since Astana has been selected to host the international exhibition in the face of bitter competition from the Belgian city of Liege.
Expo 2017 is an International Exposition that is scheduled to take place in 2017 in the international pavillion and is expected to witness a turnover of 2-3 million people. More than 100 countries and 10 international organisations are expected to participate in the event. (ANI)
