Islamabad, Mar. 17 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani should be awarded with the title of field marshal for his services to democracy in the country. The News quoted Malik, as saying that the credit for the completion of the government”s tenure also goes to Kayani as he always supported the democratically elected government. He said the law and order situation had improved in the country as the security plan devised by Kayani had remained successful during the past five years in foiling the threats posed by terrorist elements. Malik said that when he became interior minister, the main challenge was that of terrorism. However, both he and Kayani succeeded in “breaking the backbone of terrorists”. (ANI)
