AICC Spokesperson Madhu Yashki Goud on Monday said that the gesture by Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha to extend financial assistance to farmers was a directed confession that her father and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has failed to help farmers in distress.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Yashki said that the TRS Government has completely failed to help the farmers in distress, including the families of those committed suicide. The wrong policies of TRS Government have turned a revenue surplus Telangana into a bankrupt State and government has no money to help the farmers. He said Kavitha gesture was a confession that her father has failed to rescue the drought-hit farmers.
Yashki alleged that tenders were being called only to collect commission. He said besides KCR, ministers T Harish Rao and K. Tarakarama Rao were also receiving huge kickbacks. He said that a majority of people who are meeting the Chief Minister are Andhraiate contractors. He said so far the State Government has released Rs. 2,714 crore towards advance for different projects and KCR and his family members directed benefitted from them.
The Congress leader also demanded that Telangana Jagruthi make its balance sheet public. He said Kavitha’s NGO has promised to pay Rs. 2500 per month to 389 families of farmers for four years. He said Kavitha had announced that she would mobilise Rs. 1 crore for the farmers’ families. He said this amount would be sufficient only for one year and what would Kavitha do from the next year onwards.
Yashki appealed to the JACs, who played an active role in formation of Telangana, to raise voice against the wrong policies of the TRS Government. (INN)
