Kavitha seeks votes, assures development, turmeric board

Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP Kavitha today organized election road show in her constituency along with minister Prashant Reddy, former Speaker Suresh Reddy and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha claimed to have developed her constituency in just five years. She appealed to people to vote for her in the April 11 elections for more development and welfare schemes for the poor. The TRS Government was taking all steps to protect interests of farmers of red jowar and turmeric and others, she said. “Last year, the State government spent Rs 150 crore and purchased red jowar produce from the farmers”, she said, adding they spent huge funds for irrigation works and cleared arrears of Rs 11 crore towards red jowar.

Kavitha also promised to provide two-bed room houses to the poor in her constituency. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken a decision to provide Rs 5 lakh to poor with own land for housing facility. “Our schemes are being appreciated at the national level and some States and even the Union government followed our welfare measures”, she claimed. “The people have to vote for the TRS candidates in the polls to ensure our voice heard in the Centre,” she added.

Minister Prashanth Reddy said Kavitha made unrelenting efforts for developing the segment and to fetch Turmeric board, whereas former Congress MP Madhu Yashki Goud had utterly failed to develop the constituency and allowed the funds lapsed, he charged. In the past, Union minister Nirmala Sitaraman failed to sanction a Turmeric Board for Telangana State, but now, the BJP leaders were promising the same if voted to power, he said. The minister slammed the BJP Government for not giving the board and funds to the infant State.
