Telangana TDP senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy today demanded that the State government release a white paper on financial position of the State.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Ravula questioned as to why the government imposed curbs on release of funds for welfare schemes when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed that State’s financial position was good. He said new districts were created in an unscientific manner and the Chief Minister had promised to convene an all-party meeting before issuing a notification of new districts, but he failed to keep his word. There were apprehensions in the minds of people about the State’s financial position and it was responsibility of the government to clarify and clear the doubts, TDP leader said.
Taking a dig, Ravula quipped that Chief Minister’s son KTR was in the US visit, daughter and Nizamabad MP Kavita was in Kuwait while father (KCR) was relaxing in his farmhouse leaving the people’s welfare to the wind. He also asked the Chief Minister as to why his government was not releasing funds for the double bedroom houses even after stepping into power two years ago. The government which was not fulfilling its promise of building double bedroom houses to the poor, was constructing posh houses for Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police at a cost of hundreds of crores of rupees, he said vehemently.
