KAVITA KARKARE loses hope in getting justice
Mumbai,December 24: The famous ats cop wife is fast loosing hope in the justice system ,Needless to mention than more than a 1,00,000 muslims are languishing in jails all over the country for one and only one reason that they cannot afford to pay the bail amount of Rs 5000-10,000 .Kavita Karkare isn’t convinced by the police’s claim that they have solved the mystery of her husband’s missing bulletproof jacket. Terming it an eyewash, Kavita say that she has lost all hopes of getting justice from the police.DNA had reported on Wednesday that a sweeper from JJ Hospital had approached the Mumbai crime branch claiming to have dumped slain anti-terrorism squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare’s bulletproof jacket in plastic bags meant for bio-medical waste.
“This theory had cropped up now because the government is under pressure,” Kavita said. “I don’t believe in this theory of the police.”
Questioning as to how the sweeper Dinesh Gataar suddenly surfaced after a gap of one year, Kavita said, “I had raised a few questions regarding the missing jacket months ago. Where was this sweeper at that time and why didn’t he come forward to register his statement?”
Former IPS officer YP Singh – lawyer of social activist Santosh Daundkar who had lodged a complaint with a magistrate urging him to order a probe into the missing jacket – said that Gataar is being used by the police to deceive the people. “An ACB file about the purchase of such sub-standard jackets is also missing. Gataar cannot have misplaced that as well,” he said.
Singh said that an independent investigation should be initiated to find out who would have benefited from the thefts. “In case an independent inquiry is not done, we will have to file a writ petition for an independent probe,” he said.
Singh also said that Gataar’s statement cannot influence the conclusion of the investigation. “It has to be derived through totality of evidence and not by a mere statement. All of Karkare’s clothes were seized during panchnama, but how could they forget about his jacket?” Singh asked.
