Hyderabad, June 02: Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavita has demanded that the state government all revaluation of the answerscripts of all Intermediate students hailing from the Telangana region free of cost. She has also urged the government to direct the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) to take stringent action against those who were careless in evaluating the Intermediate students’ answerscripts.
Speaking to reporters here today, Kavita, who is the daughter of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, alleged that injustice was meted out to Telangana students in paper valuation done by lecturers from the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. “Nearly 20,000 st udents applied for revaluation . The answerscripts of nearly 4,000 of them were found to be erroneously evaluated as proved in the revaluation. Nearly 2,000 lecturers were at fault, she said and appealed to BIE higher officials to take action against those examiners.
She recalled that her organisation and several others had feared regional bias and requested the government long back that the answer papers of Telangana students be evaluated only by examiners from the Telangana region but the government failed to address their concerns. “The government should accept the demand of the students and parents for free revaluation now. If not, we will launch an agitation,” Kavita warned.
