Mumbai, June 22: Though it is not confirmed whether Lara Dutta really had a tiff with David Dhawan during the promotional event of their upcoming film Do Knot Disturb at the IIFA awards, the actress has been dropped from the sequel of Partner, to be directed by Dhawan.
Sources, however, say the second lead actress of Partner — Katrina Kaif — will also not be repeated in the sequel.
Confirming this, a source from the unit said: “Yes, I am sure that Dhawan ji does not want Lara and Katrina to be a part of the sequel. He does not want the same faces to be repeated. He is looking for new faces.” When we approached the director, he confirmed the news. “We dropped Katrina and Lara because we wanted two new actresses,” he said. “A new cast will add glamour and create interest for the audience.” Interestingly, the two lead actors of Partner — Salman Khan and Govinda — have not been replaced.
“They are the of the film. Hence, I cannot do without them,” Dhawan said.
