Melbourne, December 28: Opening batsman Simon Katich has taken the blame for the run out of partner Shane Watson
on the first day of the Boxing Day Test agianst Pakistan here.
With both batsmen stranded at the same end, Katich concedes he was guilty of ball watching when he should have been keeping an eye on Watson running down the pitch towards him.
”I was guilty of watching the ball when I probably should have been watching where ‘Watto’ was,” Katich was quoted as saying by ‘The Advertiser’. ”I heard absolutely nothing . . . with 60,000 people yelling and screaming. ”There probably was (a run) because obviously ‘Watto’ got down the other end. I came down the wicket
a fair bit but unfortunately didn’t hear a thing and we both got stranded at the same end,” he added.
Watson, on 93, was reluctant to walk but Katich insisted there was no ill-feeling between the pair.
