Srinagar: Kashmiri Pandits Muslims and Sikhs reunited after 29 years, in a two-day event named as Salaam Mahra. The even witnessed emotional outbursts of bonding that used to be between the two communities before Kashmiri Pandits migrated from the Valley in the 90s.
Space Communications and H. N. Wanchoo Trust organised the event at Tagore Hall Srinagar, which aimed at reviving the old bond between Muslims, Pandits and Sikhs of the Valley.
This was the first event of this kind in Kashmir which meant to bring Kashmiri Pandits, Muslims and Sikhs under one roof. Kashmiri Pandits remembered the old times they spent in the valley. Kashmiri Muslims and Sikhs termed Kashmir incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits. The programme began with Naat-e-Shareef.
A two-minute silence was observed for giving justice to Asifa, an 8-year-old girl who was raped at Kathua.
