Kashmir: Soldiers got injured and one civilian killed by terrorists

NEW DELHI: An army party in south Kashmir’s Shopian district was attacked by terrorists, killing one civilian and injuring two soldiers, police informed.

“Terrorists opened fire upon an Army patrol party of 62 RR in Baskuchan village in Imam Sahib area of the district today evening,”, informed an army official reported TOI. Two soldiers and a driver got injured in the attack, he added.

“Driver Nazir Ahmad was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries,” the police official said.

Earlier in the day, security forces had launched a massive anti-terror operation in Sophian district, in a rush of increasing terrorist activities in the past few days.

They had already segregated several villages in the district today and are in the process of conducting a huge search operation. Details are awaited.
