Kashmir: Mufti Azam condemns summon issued to separatist leader Mirwaiz by NIA

Srinagar: Mufti Nasir ul Islam and Mufti Azam Jammu & Kashmir held a press conference at Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar in which Mufti Azam condemned the summon issued to Jammu and Kashmir’s separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by NIA and said if NIA wants to question Mirwaiz, they must do it in Srinagar.

While answering the reports Mufti said if NIA rejects Mirwaiz statement of questioning him in Srinagar, it will rise a new agitation in Kashmir.

Mufti Azam Jammu & Kashmir Nasir Ul Islam calls for Kashmir Bandh on Saturday against the summon to Kashmiris chief priest Mirwaiz Umar Farooq & Jamaat-e-Islami ban.

The National Investigation Agency on Sunday summoned Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and son of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Naseem Geelani, for questioning in its ongoing probe in connection with the 2017 terror funding case.

The central government banned Jamaat-e-Islami (J-K) under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act for a period of five years and sealed the Jamaat-e-Islamia Central Office at Batamaloo in Srinagar.
