Srinagar: An Army man who was missing for few days is being suspected to have joined the militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The police said they are verifying the picture of the army jawan that has gone viral. The picture shows him holding an AK47 rifle, a signature style to announce someone has joined militancy.
India Today quoted sources as saying that Mir Idrees Sultan joined Hizbul Mujahideen. He was part of Army’s Bihar 12 JAKLI and is a resident of Safnag in Shopian district. Mir is being missing since April 15 and had reportedly visited his home recently.
His family, who has been searching him, says his phone is not reachable since that day. The police have registered a case and have started an investigation in the matter.
