Lucknow: District Magistrate of Bareilly, Mr. Raghvendra Vikram Singh is likely to face disciplinary action as the State Government decided to start proceedings against him for his Facebook post after Kasganj violence.
According to the report published in Hindustan Times, a senior official who is dealing with the case told that on the basis of the report of the Divisional Commissioner, Government decided to initiate departmental action against the DM.
It may be mentioned that in the post, he questioned the trend of raising anti-Pak slogans by entering into Muslim localities. He wrote, “It has become a strange tradition to take out processions, enter into Muslim localities and raise anti-Pakistani slogan”. He questioned that are the residents of these localities are Pakistanis?
In another post on Facebook, Mr. Singh asked despite China being our bigger enemy, why anti-China slogans were never raised.
However, after the controversy, he deleted the Facebook post.
It may be noted that the action to be taken against him will be decided after DM submits his reply.
According to the news published in NDTV, last year, Mr. Singh was posted as District Magistrate of Bareilly.
Earlier, Governor of the UP, Mr. Ram Naik had termed the Kasganj violence as a “blot” for the state.
