Chennai, February 27: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today expressed confidence that his party will come to power after the state Assembly polls due in May.
Addressing a meeting here where scores of persons led by former AIADMK leader P K Sekhar Babu joined DMK, Karunanidhi stressed that his government has taken lot of steps for welfare of the state, including construction of concrete houses for poor, subsidised rice scheme and price rise mitigation efforts.
“In another six years, all the huts in the state will be transformed into concrete houses as part of the government”s housing scheme”, he said, adding, “You may ask whether I will be there after six years. I will also be there, DMK rule will be also there.”
The housing scheme envisages replacing all huts in the state with concrete houses, Karunanidhi said, adding three lakh houses were being covered in the first phase.
