TRS leader Karne Prabhakar today said the BJP will face people’s ire if its leaders failed to mend their ways.
Addressing the media at TRS Legislature Party office here on Saturday, Prabhakar accused the BJP Government at the Centre of playing dual standards on announcing minimum support price to chili farmers. He condemned the remarks made by Union Minister Bandaru Dattatraya against the State government. “It is unfair for a leader like Dattatraya, who was making false allegations against the State government”, he charged. He took serious exception to the BJP leaders for attributing the Khammam chilli farmers handcuffing to Basheerbagh firing incident. It is not right to compare in such an irresponsible way and the State government has taken steps against the erring police officials with regard to arresting the chilli farmers, he said.
Expressing displeasure at the Centre, Karne said, “We have been time and again bringing the problems of chilli farmers in the State to the Centre. Though the BJP Government failed to resolve the issue and only keen on expanding saffron flag and its brigade in the State, the BJP leaders were making baseless allegations against the TRS Government”, Prabhakar charged.
He also said due to lack of awareness, the BJP leaders were trying to blame the State government on the issue. It is a well-known fact that the Centre has to take a final call on commercial crops and has to announce better price for procuring chilli, he opined. Mere extension of Rs 5,000 for the chilli is not right and will not help them, he said. The State government was taking every measure to help the farmers, he said. The TRS leader ridiculed saying that the BJP leaders were digging a well when they are thirst and not well in advance. The TRS Government was taking transparent measures to help the farmers, he added. (NSS)
