New Delhi, May 8 (ANI): With the Congress emerging as the single-largest party in the Karnataka assembly polls, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Wednesday sharpened his attack on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, touted by many to be the BJP”s prime ministerial candidate in 2014.
“No one knows Narendra Modi outside Gujarat. It has been proved again by Karnataka,” Singh told media here.
“We all say that who knows Modi outside the Gujarat. BJP has lost because of their own mistakes. The truth is now coming in front of the people,” he added.
Echoing similar sentiments, Union Telecommunication Minister Kapil Sibal said Narendra Modi”s magic has clearly failed to work in Karnataka.
“It has been proved that he (Modi) is a big zero. He has no impact on the voters of Karnataka,” Sibal said.
Modi campaigned for the party in Karnataka in an effort that it is re-elected to power.
Modi, who secured an electoral hat-trick in Gujarat, left no stone unturned in targetting the Gandhi family and the ruling Congress Party at the Centre during his election campaigns in Karnataka.
As per the latest trends, the Congress was set to return to power in Karnataka, with its candidates winning 88 seats and leading in 31 seats.
