Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: Karnataka’s Energy Minister and senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar was summoned by the Income Tax Department on Thursday.
Earlier this year in August, I-T sleuths raided D.K. Shivakumar’s various properties for three consecutive days for his alleged connection in tax evasion.
The six-time MLA, after the raids were conducted on his properties, said, “I have not violated the law.”
In September, All India Congress Committee (AICC) reportedly directed the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to protest against I-T department offices in the state, alleging the department of using foul tactics to persuade leaders to join the BJP in order to avoid further raids. (ANI)
