Karnataka Elections: Bright chances for Congress, Telugu voters play key role

Hyderabad: Telugu speaking voters of 12 districts of Karnataka may influence Assembly Elections in the State. BJP and Congress are concentrating on Telugu areas. On account of differences between TDP and BJP, Telugu speaking voters may not vote in favour of BJP.

BJP might send Ms. Nirmala Sitaraman and other BJP leaders for campaigning in Telugu areas. Mr. Naidu has also sent some of his ministers to Hyderabad-Karnataka Districts to campaign against BJP whereas Mr. KCR has appealed to Telugu people to cast their votes in favour of JD (S) but there is no hope of Mr. KCR influencing Telugu people. The real contest is between Congress and BJP.

BJP is worried about the Telugu voters. They constitute 15% of the total electorate. BJP has given ticket to Gali Janardhan Reddy’s brother and two of his supporters in these districts. The strategy is to damage Congress by taking the support of Gali brothers.

It may be mentioned that earlier, President of BJP, Mr. Amit Shah had disassociated with Gali Janardhan Reddy but BJP MP Mr. B. Sri Ramulu played a key role in patching up their differences and impressed upon Amit Shah that there is a need to associate Gali brothers since they hold good influence in Bellary, Chitradurga and Raichur districts.

TRS MP of Rajya Sabha, Mr. J. Santosh Kumar told that Mr. KCR has appealed to Telugu voters to cast their votes in favour of JD (S).

In addition to these voters, there are 10 lakh Telugu voters in Bengaluru city itself. TDP has decided to launch anti-BJP campaign in these areas. Dy. CM of AP, Mr. KE Krishna Murthy has appealed to Telugu people to cast their votes in favour of any party except BJP. It may help Congress.
