Karnataka election: please donot make it Uttar Pradesh

By Abdul hafiz lakhani :

After failing to get any response from Janata Dal (Secular) for over a month, Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on said it will contest the Karnataka assembly elections alone and without any alliance with other parties.”The AIMIM is not looking at electoral tie-up in Karnataka and will contest the state elections alone”, the party sources said adding that the number of seats it will contest is yet to be finalized.

Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) was earlier trying to form an alliance with Deve Gawda led Janata Dal (S) and Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). However, the party did not get any response from either of the two, sources said.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) had contested the Bengaluru civic elections held in August 2015, but none of its candidates could win the election. The Hyderabad based party AIMIM had earlier also contested state elections in Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. However, except winning 02 seats in Maharashtra, it could not win any seat in the other two states.

The AIMIM had first time contested election outside Hyderabad in 2012 Nanded civic elections and won 11 seats. However, it faced humiliating defeat in the 2017 Nanded civic polls when all its candidates lost the polls.

Karnataka is currently being ruled by the Congress which has a total of 113 MLAs in the house of 224. The BJP has 44 Members whereas Janata Dal (S) had 40 MLAs. The 2013 Karnataka elections were held on May 05. The current tenure of Karnataka assembly will end on May 28, 2018. As per rules the assembly election will have to be held and new house constituted before May 29.

According to 2011 Census of India, 84% of the population in Karnataka are Hindu, 12.9% are Muslim, 1.9% are Christian, 0.7% are Jains, 0.2% are Buddhist, some 0.1% are Sikhs, and remaining belong to other religions. Karnataka is also the location of some of tribes like, Nayaka, Soliga, and Yerava.

Besides Congress, Janata Dal (S) and other parties who claim to be secular, Asauddin Owaisi’s AIMIM has been sole seeker of Muslim votes in earlier elections. However in Karnataka, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Dr Nowhera Shaikh-led All India Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) – the two parties which mainly bank on Muslim support, are also contesting the state elections.

While SDPI has not yet declared how many seats it will contest, All India Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) has already said it will field candidates on all 224 assembly constituencies. The All India Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) is contesting election for the first time.

The biggest opposition is also planning to put their foot into Karnataka by hook or crook by using all their tactics under their command. As a first step they have already carried out a survey of all Districts of Karnataka and identified that in 100 Constituencies the Muslims votes are deciding factor just short of 13 Constituencies to come to power. In these 100 Constituencies Mr. Amit Shah have already decided to identify at least up-to ten Muslim dummy candidates to contest in each Constituency as Independent candidates.

This is very easy for him to do so as there would be many such Muslim candidates who would be easily available as they would like to make money without much effort or any accountability, during this election. If each one of them get even 500 to 1000 votes of Muslims they have cut the votes of Secular candidates by 5,000 to 10,000 if 5 to 10 such Muslim candidates are fielded by him as planned. This is very easy to get these Muslims candidates as there is no dearth of money for this Party. These facts are well known to all Secular Parties as it had come in the media, few days ago.

The Congress Party being the biggest Party may consider calling a meeting of all Secular Parties starting from JDS the biggest second Secular Party to the last Muslim League or Welfare Party of India. To name other than these Secular Parties, All India Ittehadul Muslimeen, SDPI, AAP, CPI, CPM, Mayavati Party, Mulayam Singh and Akhlesh Singh Parties, Sharad Yadav, Mamata Banerjee Party, may be if Moulana Syed Ajmal of Assam is also entering in this arena. The Congress and other parties must have calculated their vote bank by now existing in their areas. All of them may be asked to present their figures of expected voters along with the number of candidates and the constituencies they are going to field their candidates with their last performance of obtaining number of votes and winning / loosing constituencies etc.

The other option is to call all parties individually first and examine their effects in the voting etc., in a cordial atmosphere. Thereafter, call for a combined meeting to discuss all parties proposals one by one and arrive at some positive conclusions in this meeting, with consensus to bring all of them under one umbrella. In this meeting Congress should act as BIG BROTHER to give small considerations where required to other small parties to win them over rather than losing the power of this important State for years to come.

Muslim candidates from all Parties may be given favourable consideration wherever their population is going to tilt the power proportionately to their population, by putting winnable candidate of Muslim and make them positively win by providing all services and facilities required for their win.

In recent News papers it has been given in headlines on first page that as per CSDS Lok Neeti, Mood of the Nation Survey, this time Congress would come to power again in Karnataka again by getting 50% votes and JDS may get 20% votes. Though we are not aware of the credibility of this survey and also about the Organisation conducting the same and what was their performance in previous elections?

AIMIM Party of Asaduddin Owaisi knows fully well that they can’t win any seat in Karnataka, but they very well know that they can play with youth sentiments & get 3000 to 5000 precious Muslim votes & spoil the chances of Congress votes, thereby resulting in split in Muslim votes, with a result of BJP candidate’s win.

It’s duty of every educated Muslim citizen (men or women) to make this realise to all in their house, galli, mohalla, groups, like minded persons & make people realise that especially in Karnataka the vote if Muslims should not be split amongst any other party like – JDS, SDPI, AIMIM Of Owaisi, or BJP sponsored Muslim candidates.
