Karnataka crisis hatched by Congress: Venkaiah

Nellore, October 11: BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu has accused the Congress of hatching a conspiracy along with Janata Dal(S) to topple the BJP government in Karnataka.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Naidu said Congress, which tasted defeat in 16 byelections in recent times, was not able to digest the BJP forming a government in Karnataka, the first in the south. It was even blackmailing the governor to achieve its goal.

“Unfortunately, the Karntaka governor too, bowing to the pressure from the Congress, is misusing his powers and creating trouble to the BJP government.’’

“If the Congress is not really concerned, why did JD-S leader Kumaraswamy go to Goa and what is the need for shifting MLAs to various states?’’ Naidu wanted to know. He, however, admitted that some of his party MLAs were disgruntled with the party leadership and efforts were on to address their grievance. The Congress, he said, was trying to exploit the situation to its advantage, he alleged.
