Karnataka Assembly Elections: Congress floats 17 Muslim candidates

Hyderad: Congress has given tickets to 17 Muslim candidates for 225 members Assembly in Karnataka. Two candidates were added to the list at the 11th hour.

Mr. Roshan Beig and Mr. Tanvir Sait got the tickets for the second time. Ms. Kaneez Fatima, the widow of late Minister Qamarul Islam got the ticket from Gulbarga North.

The interesting thing is that BJP and AAP have not given ticket to any Muslim candidate. According to 2011 census, Muslims constitute 12.9 of the total population of the State.
