Mandya: Twenty-five people died after a bus fell into a canal in Karnataka’s Mandya. The incident took place in Mandya which is 105km from Bengaluru.
Deputy Karnataka CM G Parameshwara said, “25 people have died. I believe the driver was not driving properly, I will find out, take some more inputs.”
According to the sources the death toll is likely to rise. The bus was completely submerged in water. The locals are using ropes and trying to pull the bus out from the water body in the middle of what appears to be a field.
The fire department is carrying out rescue operation and scanning the area for injured people. So far, only three people have been rescued.
The bodies of the deceased people are being shifted to VIMS hospital in Mandya. Taking stock of the situation, Karnataka Chief Minister
has cancelled all his programmes and rushed to the accident spot.
