Mumbai, November 11: Where is the bulletproof jacket of Hemant Karkare, a top police official of Mumbai Police gunned down in the audacious terror strike in November last year?
According to Karkare’s wife Kavita, who had filed an RTI to this effect, the bulletproof jacket was reported missing by the authorities.
Despite wearing a bulletproof jacket, Karkare received three fatal bullet-injuries in chest which put a question mark over the efficacy of these jackets to provide safety in the wake of such terror attacks.
“When his body was found, the bulletproof jacket was missing…even at the hospital…I filed a RTI application few months back asking where the jacket is but the reply I got was that it is missing..,” Kavita Karkare told PTI in an interview today.
