Karimnagar makes it to Smart Cities list

The Central Government has included Karimnagar in the list of the Smart Cities project, a statement from the Union Urban Development ministry informed on Thursday.

Karimnagar, the third biggest city in Telangana after Hyderabad and Warangal, was selected in the much-hyped urban development project replacing Hyderabad.

It may be mentioned here that Hyderabad and Warangal were selected in the Smart City project recently. However, after the Telangana Government’s intervention that Karimnagar be included in the list of Smart Cities in place of Hyderabad, the Union Government made the necessary changes in the list of Smart Cities project.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar and Telangana Government’s Special Representative in New Delhi S Venugopal Chary had met Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in this regard recently. (INN)
