Actor-producer-writer Kamaal R Khan is quite miffed with the performances of our B’town biggies at the IPL inaugural ceremony.
‘Flop show’
According to KRK, the whole entertainment scenario at the IPL opening gala was “a flop show.” Ask him the reason, and he says: “All the stars, including Salman Khan bhai and Priyanka Chopra just came and performed in a lackluster manner. Woh bus thoda hildul de chale gaye, there was no energy in any of the acts! It seems they were invited by Rajeev Shukla to somehow show their faces. And looking at the way all of them performed, I felt maybe they were not even paid! If there was a match to watch after the inauguration, the shabby ceremony wouldn’t have rankled so much. But, in the absence of cricket, people were subjected to a pathetic show.”
‘Breathless Rajeev Shukla’
KRK says, he was most amused seeing the way Rajeev Shukla delivered his speech. “He was completely breathless, even though his speech appeared to be rehearsed umpteen times. And I really laughed seeing that he didn’t even give a second’s breather between the two sentences. I think he was scared that he would forget his lines.”
‘Bebo aunty’
Ask him why did he tweet during the ceremony that “”Kareena was looking like an aunty”” and he says: “When I saw her dance wearing that glittering dress, I really felt she is looking like a fat aunty. Since a couple of her films have flopped in a row, maybe she has become dispappointed with herself and is now resigned to the fact that she has to get married to Saif Ali Khan. But, it was really sad to see her looking so matronly and fat!”
‘Katy Perry rocks’
But, KRK, quickly adds that the finale put together by Katy Perry was “really amazing!” He goes on to add: “She was looking so hot and sexy that I just became her fan instantly! Then I checked her twitter page and realised that she has more than 17 million fans, whereas even the biggest of our superstars have maximum 2 million fans! So, she’s incomparable!”
