Hyderabad, December 29: A five-day exhibition on rare artifacts and objects of the Martyrs of Karbala was inaugurated by museum member Nawab Ehteram Ali Khan at the Laiq Ali Khan Bhavan in Easter Block of the Salar Jung Museum on Tuesday.
The exhibition is part of the period of observation of grief in the month of Muharram, the month in which Hazrat Imam Hussain (RAA) was martyred.
Imam Hussain, the Grandson of the Prophet of Islam is equally revered by all the sects of Muslims, including Sunnis and Shias.
The exhibition consists of 117 objects, including rare Qutub Shahi Alam of 1192 H (18th century), Mahi Maratib, Dhatti, Nishan, and printed book on martyrdom, elegy, dirge and praise of imam Hussain by famous authors Mir Babar Ali Anees, Mirza Salamat Ali Dabeer, Maharaja Kishan Parsad, Dillu Ram Kausari, Allama Hindi and Baqir Amanat Khani.
A series of photographs, shrines of martyrs of Karabala, Imam Husain along with others and photographs of old Ashur Khana of Hyderabad have also been put on display.
Hazrat Imam Hussain was the son of Hazrat Ali and Bibi Fatima Zohra, the daughter of the Holy Prophet of Islam.
Director museum A Nagender Reddy enlightened the visitors about the holy articles and photographs.
