Kanwariya shot at by five companions in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A kanwariya was allegedly shot at by his five companions near an irrigation canal at village Milak-Duhai road, police said today.

Muradnagar SHO Ummed Yadav said about 5:00 AM today, a Home Guard found a Kanwariya lying in a pool of blood following which he informed the police.

Critically injured Garuv (27), a resident of Boodah village in Noida sector-58, was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Ghaziabad.

In his statement to the police, Gaurav said he and his 12 friends were on their back to Noida from Haridwar when yesterday evening they halted at a ‘Kanwariya camp’ on Delhi- Meerut Road.

His friends called him outside on some pretext. While Brahm, Ramdass, Satyendra and Sonu caught hold of him, Rupesh fired the shot, police said.

After incident all five fled from the spot, police said.

The SHO said a case has been registered under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) against the five accused and added that efforts are underway to nab them.
