Kanpur University students to have 17-digit UID numbers

Kanpur, May 31: To provide information on students, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University here will be providing 17-digit Unique Identity (UID) numbers to all its pupils taking admission this academic session.

“Every student will be provided with an UID number. They will also have a web page which will contain all significant information about examinations, attendance, results, co-curricular activities,” Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Harsh Kumar Sehgal told.

Students will be able to log onto their respective web pages using their 17-digit unique identity numbers and the passwords assigned to them.

The web page will display the student’s name, personal information such as address, telephone number, date of birth and parents’ names as well their photograph.

Marks obtained by the student in each examination and their rank will also be updated at the web page, along with any achievements made at the University, Sehgal said.
