Hyderabad: Communist Party of India floated Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, former president of JNU Students’ Union as a candidate for Parliamentary Constituency of Begusarai, Bihar.
Despite continuous refusal, Union Minister, Mr. Giriraj Singh has been nominated to contest this seat.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Giriraj Singh had issued venomous statements against the Muslims during the election campaign of 2014. After Mr. Amit Shah and Mr. Modi persuaded Mr. Singh to contest from this seat, he agreed.
The interesting thing is that it is not only the contest between Kanhaiya Kumar and Giriraj Singh but in fact it is a contest between poverty and richness, truth and falsehood.
This is the reason Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and his friend came forward to donate money to help Kanhaiya Kumar. The amount collected was handed over to the Secretary General of Communist party of India, Mr. S. Sudhakar Reddy in the presence of former Rajya Sabha MP of CPI, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha.
Political analysts opine that the contest is not only between Kanhaiya Kumar and Giriraj Singh but also against Mr. Modi, Mr. Amit Shah and the RSS. However, people are determined to support Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar.
