Kamalanathan committee on Bifurcation T employees opposed Options, Seemandhra sought them

Kamalanathan Committee on bifurcation today gave a patient hearing to employees unions of Telangana and Seemadhra in Secretariat. While Telangana employees sought that there shall be no chance for Options and will not tolerate the continuation of Seemandhra employees in Telangana State. Seemandhra counterparts sought options to protect their interests. Thus, the committee chief Kamalanathan is said to have expressed discontent on the issue. He is reportedly indicated to hold another meeting to tersely tell them of the decision in the wake of speeding up bifurcation process. Narender urged Kamalanathan to recommend for making an amendment in AP Reorganization Bill to ensure that 42 per cent and 58 per cent of pensions should be paid by Telangana and AP Governments respectively. Besides he appealed to the committee to recommend guidelines to see that the employees of the respective regions should work in their own home states only.
While T employees said that options will help the Seemandhra employees overstay here, the latter argued that it is their right to take options. T Employees chairman Narender Rao appealed to the committee to direct the employees to offer their services in their home states. Since 90 per cent of the Secretariat employees are of Seemadhra region and only 10 percent are those of T region, the committee should take a lead to shift them, Narender said. Besides 1.5 lakh Seemandhra employees are illegally recruited justice must be done to the T employees, he said. Stating that 5.67 lakh pensioners are in Hyderabad, pension issue should be settled based on nativity and qualification. He alleged that injustice being meted out to them and political parties should give their opinion. (NSS)
