Kamala Mills : Sudarshan Shinde, the brave Hero who saved multiple lives

Mumbai: The fire accident tragedy which happened in Mumbai’s Kamala Mills became talk of the town. In this accident, 14 people were killed and others were seriously injured.

When the fire broke out, the first to reach were the local policeman of the Worli Police station. They reached on the spot before the fire brigade had arrived.

A picture of a Policeman saving victims has gone viral on the internet. His name Sudarshan Shinde, was the first person to reach the spot.

Sudarshan Shinde went upstairs on seven floors each time to rescue the victims and bring them down. He helped to bring three victims out of the charred complex.

Sudarshan Shinde said that “When I reached upstairs, everything was burnt and charred. When I reached down, I could hear exploding sounds. Which I feel were of alcohol bottles and gas cylinders. There were several hookahs that added to the intensity of the flames. I could see only one woman coughing. The rest, I believe, may have died of suffocation.”

There were others too who helped to save victims. The security guards of Times Now also helped them to bring down.
