Kalyanamastu will go on: TTD EO

Tirupati, January 24: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams was not going to wind up Kalyanamstu, the mass wedding programme, executive officer IYR Krishna Rao clarified here today.

Referring to media reports on the decisions taken by the Specified Authority a couple of days ago, Rao said in a press release that they had only disbanded the trust set up for the purpose and would be bearing the cost of Kalyanamastu from the general fund of the TTD.

He also clarified that they had been using only domestic cow ghee in temple rituals and in prasadams.

Rao said providing more privileges to those donating Rs 1 crore and more did not mean that the privileges to those who donated less than Rs 1 crore were no more extended.

“The rules and privileges pertaining to donations remain unchanged,’’ he said.
