Kalyana Laxmi scheme for BC, EBC girls from April 1: Ramanna

BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna has said the prestigious Kalyana Laxmi scheme of the State government will be implemented for the BC and EBC girls, who got married from April 1, 2016.

 

Inaugurating a website for Kalyana Laxmi scheme here on Friday at his chambers in Secretariat, Ramanna said that the Kalyana Laxmi scheme would be applicable to the brides who completed 18 years and belongs to Telangana state. The brides, whose parents’ income not to exceed Rs.1.5 lakh and in urban areas, not to exceed Rs.2 lakh, were eligible for the scheme, he said. This year the government allocated Rs.300crore for the scheme and 58,820 brides will be benefited with the amount, he asserted. The beneficiaries have to apply online to avail Kalyana Laxmi scheme, he revealed and one has to approach http://epasswebsite.cgg.gov.

The beneficiaries have to submit birth certificate, caste certificate and income certificate along with application and the certificates not to exceed six months time after the marriage of the bride. The beneficiaries have to upload Xerox copy of bank pass book with photo of bride, wedding card and marriage registration certificate before the completion of one month after marriage. The benefit will be applicable to bride for one time. The District BC Welfare Department officials would deposit the amount in the brides’ bank account after thorough examination of certificates.

Seeking peoples cooperation in implementing the scheme without any irregularities, Ramanna made it clear that adequate steps will be taken to implement the scheme perfectly. Later, the Minister released the logo of BC Residential School logo.

BC Welfare Department principal secretary Somesh Kumar, Commissioner GD Aruna, BC Residential Schools secretary Mallaiah Bhattu were also present. (NSS)
