Congress former MLA from Thamballapalle in Chittoor district Kalicherla Prabhakar Reddy today resigned from the party and joined the TDP in the presence of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu.
TDP Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh, Thamballapalle constituency TDP in-charge G Shankar, senior leaders G Ramdas Choudhary, M Sudhakar, K Mallikarjuna Naidu, G Jaganmohan Reddy and others were present.
Meanwhile there were reports that two senior Congress leaders from Krishna district are likely to jump into the TDP. Former ministers Mandali Buddha Prasad and Pinnamaneni Venkateshwara Rao are also likely to embrace the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday, informed sources said.
Both Buddha Prasad and Venkateshwara Rao had unsuccessfully contested from Avanigadda and Gudivada Assembly constituencies respectively in the previous 2009 elections. (NSS)
