Kaleshwaram wet run success, CM greets staff

Hyderabad: The much-awaited wet run of P 6 Kaleshwaram Pump House was successful by releasing waters today with CMO Secretary Smitha Sabharwal switching on by performing pujas. On this significant occasion, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed his pleasure and extended thanks to engineers, officials and workers involved in the project works.

The motors are lifting the waters from Nandi Medaram Surgepool and the water will reach the reservoir as per previous plan. From there, the Godavari waters will reach reservoir in Lakshmipur and similarly they will be lifted to reach Mid Manair project.

As part of Kaleshwaram project Medigadda barrage and other reservoirs are ready to shift 151 tmc Godavari waters to various places and 82 motors have been set up for the purpose. The project also gets importance for using 139 mw motor and arrangements are on for phase wise fixing of equipment besides setting up 124.4 mw at Medaram pump house. Out of seven dry runs planned, four are ready and one of them was launched today successfully. The remaining three will begin from Thursday onwards.
