Dr K.V. Rao Scientific Society, which is involved in promotion and encouragement of young students in pursuit of science and research, today organized “Friendship with Science” program on the occasion of late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday at “Friendship Heights” in Siddarthnagar in Vengalrao Nagar.
On the occasion, a demonstration of science experiments was organized under the title “Science is Fun” by Prof. P.K. Sai Prakash, Bausch and Lomb Institute of Optometrics, LVPEI. Dr K.V. Rao Scientific Society also organized programs like “Integration of Science and Art” and “Fun with Science Toys”, “Sun is Fun” and so on to promote science and encourage kids to pursue science. Over 150 school children, guests, scientists, sciences scholars, researchers attended the function.
Speakers, who spoke on the occasion, remembered the great work of Dr Kalam, particularly engaging in children. Welcoming guests, Ratna, secretary of Dr K.V. Rao Scientific Society said it was the science lab for the less fortunate. She also announced that the Dr K.V. Rao Scientific Society was planning to develop a full-fledged science library for the benefit of those who do not have access to science books. (NSS)
