Bhubaneswar, January 15: Former President APJ Abdul Kalam today asked the media to be part of the development process by highlighting the positive aspect of society.
Kalam, who was stranded here on his way to Rourkela as his chopper could not take off due to inclement weather, told reporters that both print and electronic media should focus on development rather than going for the lacuna every time.
On Orissa’s poverty, Kalam said he had personal experience about the state for its spirit to fight back calamities. “The state should adopt long term plan for the development in primary sectors like health, education.”
Suggesting the state government to properly monitor the development process, he said Indians had a great potential to emerge as the strongest nation in the world by 2020.
