Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has said that there was no worth in the criticism made by the opposition parties on the budget introduced by the TRS government for the year 2017-18.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Srihari said that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given top priority to the poor and backward classes’ welfare. The budget was prepared keeping the welfare and human resources, farmers, along with state’s comprehensive development. The state government allocated Rs.4,000 crore for fourth phase farmers’ loan waiver scheme. He explained that the state government allocated Rs.5,000 crore for the agriculture sector directly and indirectly. The government will take the good suggestions of the opposition parties for the development of the people, he said.
He informed that the Textile Park will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao soon. He said that the state government allocated huge amounts to the education sector. Funds were allocated to develop infrastructure in universities across the state. The government allotted major chunk of funds to the development of SCs. The plans were prepared to spend the SC, ST Sub-plan funds for them only, he said and praised the Chief Minister terming him as a person having a good heart. (NSS)
