Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari will formally launch the prestigious scheme of distributing mulching animals such as buffalos and cows among the members of dairies in Mulkanur of Warangal district on August 11, according to Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav here today. He said that Srihari will launch the scheme and distribute 100 animals to beneficiaries to mark the launch at a program to be attended by Finance Minister E Rajender and himself.
The Government is spending a whopping Rs 1500 crore for the launch of the scheme to benefit the members of five government dairies. The members include 63,304 in Vijaya Dairy, 19307 in Mulkanur Women Dairy, and 43006 in Mother Dairy. The Government has decided to spend Rs 80000 to buy each mulching animal, he said. The minister also informed that the government will offer 75 per cent subsidy to SC, ST members, 50 per cent to BC members. He said that the government also providing insurance facility to the animals for three years and provides 300 kg fodder. Guidelines are prepared in such a way that the beneficiaries can buy the animals of their choice and at any place of availability he said. Srinivas Yadav said that the government will also provide Rs 5000 towards transportation of each buffalo or cow as per the scheme.(NSS)
