Kadiam Exhorts Principals to Improve Standards in Jr Colleges

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today directed the principals of junior colleges to bring back past glory of the colleges by making persistent efforts. He was participating as chief guest at a workshop for principals at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium here, attended by education principal secretary Ranjeeva Acharya and other officials.

On the occasion, the minister said that the previous governments had neglected the colleges and they have to revamp their working style and functioning. The efforts by the state government could see an additional intake of 40000 students at government colleges, he claimed. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for transforming the education sector to show unsurpassed results by providing necessary support to the colleges and institutions, he maintained. He exhorted the principals to make coordinated efforts with a focus on standards and quality, using latest technologies and excel in their efforts. Besides keeping their premises clean and green, the principals have to shoulder the responsibility to see improved results.

 

`The Government has taken measures to revamp the education system and encourage residential education through gurukul institutions. As the government has geared up to provide all facilities, funds and teaching staff, the colleges have to outshine that of private colleges and institutions, he stated.(NSS)
