Kadiam demands 50% quota for TS-students in NIT Warangal

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Tuesday urged the Central Government to reserve 50% of seats for the students of Telangana in the National Institute of Technology – Warangal.

Speaking to media persons after making a representation to Union HRD Secretary Satyanarayana in New Delhi, Kadiyam contented that the Article 371D was not applicable for admissions into NIT-W and therefore, 50% quota should be allotted for Telangana students. He accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of trying to encroach upon the rights of Telangana students by demanding share of seats reserved for locals in NIT-W. He said that the Telangana Government would approach a court, if required to ensure that Telangana gets its due share. (INN)
