Hyderabad, September 20: The Kadapa Mayor, Mr Ravindranath Reddy, has alleged that the Rosaiah government has conspired to defame him.
Talking to the media here on Monday, Mr Reddy said that a game of Kissa Kursika (struggle for power) was going on in the Congress party in the State.
He said that both the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rsaiah, and the former chief minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, have been making their own moves for the post of Chief Minister and defaming the late Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s family members as part of that game, he has alleged. He said that Mr Jagan also was making his own moves through the ‘Odarpu Yatra’ for the Chief Minister’s post.
Mr Ravindranath Reddy is the brother-in-law of the late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
The Mayor said that he was being targeted because he happened to be a close relation of the late Chief Minister.
The Mayor’s supporters on Monday staged a dharna at Kadapa, demanding immediate withdrawal of police cases against the Mixing plant owned by him. Meanwhile, the CPI activists tried to gatecrash into the Harita Mixing Plant of the Mayor at Kesara, on the outskirts of the city.
Mr. Reddy came to the Secretariat and spoke to the media there.
The Mayor has alleged that the police have started doing the functions of the Agriculture Department and have been registering cases against his plants at the instances of politicians. Referring to the raids of the police, he said, “the dog should do its duty leaving the duties of a donkey to the donkey.”
Stating that no one had any understanding about mixing plants, he said this was the reason why there was so much noise about his plants. He has claimed that it was because of his mixing plants, the farmers were getting fertilizers to some extent. He said every one was trying to throw mud at him without even knowing the facts.
Stating that there was a small clerical error in his plants which led to unnecessary misunderstandings, he said if that error had not occurred all these problems would not have crept up.
