Mumbai, July 09: With a super hit like ‘New York’ safely tucked away in his kitty, Kabir Khan has become the taskmaster every actor in B-town is vying to work with. And owing to his latest offering the director has now caught the fancy of none other than Shah Rukh Khan, who it seems is desperately trying every means possible to secure a hit.
First ‘Kabul Express’ and then ‘New York’, the talented filmmaker is now looking to make a flick on a lighter subject. And if sources are to be believed then Shah Rukh will be in his next film.
Besides directing, Kabir will also be writing the script for the movie, which he has penned keeping Shah Rukh in mind.
Insiders suggest that Chopra has insisted Kabir to write the script keeping SRK in the lead. Talking about his next project Kabir told a news daily, “After ‘Kabul Express’ and ‘New York’, I need to unwind. Not that I don’t enjoy making films on serious global political issues.
I do. I enjoy the reputation of someone who identifies with issues that go beyond entertainment. But I also need to prove myself in a more adventurous, escapist space. My next is going to be a thrilling love story”
As for Shah Rukh, the director prefers to stay mum. Nevertheless, the director has raised many eyebrows as he has reportedly snubbed casting John Abraham, the lead protagonist in his last two films.
