Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism of Maulana Azad National Urdu University in collaboration with K.A. Abbas Celebrations committee, New Delhi will organize two day functions on “K.A. Abbas-a legendary personality and his heritage” on 26th and 27th March. The inaugural function will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at D.D.E. Auditorium of Urdu University. Dr. Aziz Quraishi, Governor of Uttrakhand will be the Chief Quest. He will also release a book on K.A. Abbas. Dr. Syeda Sayyidain, Chancellor of Urdu University and member of Planning Commission will present the key note address. Prof. Mohammed Miyan, VC of Urdu University will welcome the guest. A documentary film will also be screened which will depict his life and work. The film posters of K.A. Abbas will be displayed at the Center for Urdu Language, Literature and Culture of Urdu University from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On the second day (27th March) at 10:30 a.m. a seminar on “K.A. Abbas – Cinema, Journalism and Literature”. Dr. Khwaja Mohammed Shahid, Pro Vice Chancellor of Urdu University will preside over the seminar. Dr. Jabbar Patel (Director), Anjum Rajab Ali (Screenplay writer), Prof. Mohammed Shafey Khidwayi, Head of the Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication of Aligarh Muslims University, Prof. Baig Ehsas, former Head of the Dept. of Urdu, HCU will address the seminar.
