Colombo, Aug.20 : Opener K.L. Rahul’s brilliant century put India in a strong position against Sri Lanka on the opening day of the second Test at P.Sara Oval on Thursday.
At the draw of the stumps, India had scored 319 runs for the loss of six wickets in 87.2 overs.
Opener Rahul scored an impressive 108 runs off 190 balls,which included 13 fours and one six.
Skipper Virat Kohli’s 78 off 107 balls and Rohit Sharma’s 79 off 132 balls were other notable scores for the tourists.
For the Lankans, Dhammika Prasad and Rangana Herath took two wickets each. Skipper Angelo Mathews and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera claimed a wicket each.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was at the crease unbeaten at 19.(ANI)
