The committee formed to give suggestions to the Telangana government for multi-facet development of minorities especially Muslims, convened a meeting on Friday and reviewed the report to be submitted to the government. Director General Anti Corruption Bureau A K Khan has been appointed as Chairman of the Committee. A K Khan convened a meeting with Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel and Director Minority Welfare Jalaluddin Akber on Friday and reviewed the introduction of new schemes in next year budget.
According to sources chief Minister discussed Muslims’ problems with A K Khan a number of times and assigned him the job of submitting report to the government. Chief minister is not satisfied with the disbursement of budget allocated to Minority Welfare. He wants that the schemes should be implemented with transparency and complete budget should be disbursed. Current year government released Rs. 486 Cr. while the Minority Welfare Department spent Rs. 350 Cr.
According to sources A K Khan has advised to expedite implementation of schemes. He will submit the report to the government within a week.
