K Kavitha to enter RS, KT Rama Rao to remain in state

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Secretary-General K Kesava Rao shall complete his Rajya Sabha term in March.

Now debates are doing the rounds over the possible political future with sources claiming that Mr Rao may either be inducted into the Cabinet or be made Chairman of the Legislative Council once he completes the term, DC reports.

Ms K. Kavitha, daughter of CM KCR is the could be the candidate to be sent to the Rajya Sabha on Mr Rao’s retirement.

CM KCR has surely paved way for his daughter’s Rajya Sabha entry since he had appointed former MP B. Vinod Kumar as TS Planning Board Vice-Chairman.

Along with Mr Rao, three MLCs are also completing their six-year terms in March which include Mr Karne Prabhakar and Mr Naini Narasimha Reddy from the TRS and the Congress’ Ramulu Naik, all the three seats will likely go to the TRS.

According to speculation in TRS circles, Dr Kesava Rao may be made MLC and absorbed into the Cabinet.

If Mr Rao chooses to be the Chairman of the Council, then Gutta Sukhendar Reddy will be taken into the Cabinet.

Sources close to CM suggest that he wants Ms Kavitha in national politics while his son K.T. Rama Rao in the state.
